About Valura AI
Valura AI is building AI-powered financial technology products with web and mobile applications, APIs, and backend services.
We are looking for a QA Automation Intern who wants to build strong hands-on experience in modern test automation, API testing, performance testing, and CI/CD.
This role is highly automation-focused and is ideal for a student who wants to build a career in QA Automation / SDET.
Role Overview
As a QA Automation Intern, you will work across the complete Valura AI testing workflow:
Developer Code → Automated Tests → API Validation → Web & Mobile Automation → Performance Testing → CI/CD → Staging → Release Validation
You will work closely with developers and product teams to identify issues early and continuously improve automated test coverage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Web Automation
· Develop and maintain automated web test cases using Playwright.
· Automate critical end-to-end user journeys.
· Automate positive, negative, validation, and edge-case scenarios.
· Build reusable automation components and utilities.
· Work with selectors, assertions, fixtures, test data, and page objects.
· Execute cross-browser testing.
· Analyze automation failures and identify whether the issue is in the application, test, environment, or test data.
· Maintain and improve the web regression suite.
2. Mobile Automation
· Work on automation testing for Valura AI mobile applications.
· Develop automated mobile test scenarios for critical user workflows.
· Validate UI, navigation, forms, validations, API integrations, and error scenarios.
· Learn and work with mobile automation tools/frameworks as required by the product.
· Execute mobile regression tests across supported devices and environments.
· Identify device-specific and platform-specific issues.
3. API Automation
· Build automated API test cases for backend services.
· Validate REST APIs, request/response payloads, status codes, headers, authentication, and error handling.
· Automate positive and negative API scenarios.
· Validate API response data against expected business rules.
· Integrate API tests with the overall regression suite.
· Use tools/frameworks such as Playwright API testing, Postman, or equivalent automation frameworks.
· Use curl for API debugging and troubleshooting.
4. Performance Testing
· Assist in creating and executing performance tests for APIs and critical application workflows.
· Learn concepts such as:
· Load testing
· Stress testing
· Response time
· Throughput
· Concurrent users
· Error rate
· Identify performance bottlenecks and unusual response-time behavior.
· Analyze performance test results and communicate findings to the engineering team.
· Help establish basic performance checks as part of the QA pipeline.
5. CI/CD & Test Automation Pipeline
· Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
· Run automated web, mobile, and API tests as part of deployment workflows.
· Understand automated quality gates.
· Investigate failed CI/CD test runs.
· Generate and review test reports.
· Help configure automated regression execution for staging environments.
· Understand the testing flow from code commit → build → automated tests → deployment → validation.
6. Test Framework & Code Quality
· Write clean, maintainable, and reusable automation code.
· Follow basic coding and testing best practices.
· Use Git/GitHub for version control.
· Participate in code reviews for test automation.
· Maintain test data and automation configurations.
· Continuously improve test stability and reduce flaky tests.
7. Defect Identification
Although this is an automation-focused role, you will also be expected to:
· Investigate automation failures.
· Reproduce defects manually when required.
· Identify the root cause of failures.
· Report bugs with clear reproduction steps.
· Verify bug fixes.
· Add automated coverage for important bugs to prevent regression.
