Role Overview

As a Backend Code Reviewer Intern, you will be responsible for reviewing backend code submissions, identifying bugs, suggesting optimizations, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. You will work closely with backend developers and engineering leads to maintain high code quality across projects.

Responsibilities

1. Review backend code written by developers before deployment.
2. Identify bugs, security vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks.
3. Ensure code follows clean architecture and coding best practices.
4. Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
5. Verify API design, error handling, validation, and logging practices.
6. Check for proper database design and query optimization.
7. Ensure code is well-documented and maintainable.
8. Collaborate with developers to resolve review comments.
9. Suggest improvements in scalability, readability, and efficiency.
10. Maintain high engineering standards across repositories.

Required Skills

1. Strong understanding of backend development concepts.
2. Proficiency in at least one backend language:
3. Node.js
4. Python
5. Java
6. Go (preferred but optional)
7. Good knowledge of REST APIs.
8. Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
9. Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and Pull Request workflows.
10. Understanding of authentication (JWT/OAuth), caching, and API security.
11. Knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
12. Strong debugging and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications
